Custom Premium Hard Enamel Pin Badges with a Two-Step Approval Process.

Free mockup, expert design checks, and no upfront payment required.

With 35+ years of manufacturing experience and over 1.5 million designs digitised, we understand precisely how artwork behaves when translated into enamel and metal. Consequently, we don’t rely on automated software alone. Instead, experienced specialists manually assess line thickness, colour separation, and polish tolerance before anything moves forward.

The Craftsmanship

First, we prepare a custom metal mould based on your approved artwork. This mould defines every edge, border, and colour boundary. Next, enamel is applied into each recessed area and baked for durability. Finally, we polish the surface repeatedly until it becomes completely smooth and flush with the metal base. As a result, the finished pin delivers a refined, jewellery-like appearance that lasts.

Why Choose Hard Enamel?

Hard enamel pins offer a flat, polished surface that enhances clarity and colour accuracy. Therefore, they work particularly well for brands and organisations that require a premium, professional finish rather than a textured look.

  • Corporate enamel badges and member recognition
  • Award programmes and commemorative pins
  • High-end retail and collectible merchandise

Step 1 – Digital Mock-up: We prepare a badge-compatible visual and review it with you until approved.
Step 2 – Production Sample Photo: We produce a physical sample and share clear photos for final confirmation before full production.

This two-step approval system significantly reduces risk. As a result, customers avoid costly surprises while maintaining full control throughout the process.

⚠️ Vital Design Specifications (Read Before Submitting Artwork)

  • Metal die lines: Every colour must be separated by a metal border (this is how enamel is held in place).
  • Hard enamel minimum line thickness: 0.5 mm (required for the polishing process).
  • Soft enamel minimum line thickness: 0.3 mm.
  • Smallest text: Minimum 4 pt. Avoid script/decorative fonts at small sizes — clean fonts (Arial/Helvetica style) work best.

Production disclaimer

If you choose to skip the physical sample stage and go straight to main production, we cannot take responsibility for colour variations compared to the approved digital visual.

Soft Enamel vs. Hard Enamel (quick comparison)

  • Soft enamel: Textured feel, recessed valleys, handles finer linework (0.3 mm), more budget-friendly.
  • Hard enamel: Completely smooth + flat, polished jewellery-like look, needs bolder die lines (0.5 mm), premium option.

Beyond the basics: special finishes

  • Glitter ✨ — sparkle mixed into the enamel
  • Translucent — see-through enamel over metal
  • Glow in the dark — charges in light and glows at night
  • Printed (silk screen/offset) — for gradients or photographic detail where metal borders can’t capture the artwork

Plating & fastenings

Plating options: Gold, Silver/Nickel, Rose Gold, Bronze, Black Nickel, Antique finishes, Rainbow plating, Sandblasted (matte).

Backing options: Butterfly clutch, Rubber clutch, Locking clutch (deluxe), Magnetic (no holes in fabric).

In simple terms

Definition:
Hard enamel pins are metal pins where each colour is held inside metal “walls” (die lines), then baked and polished until the surface is smooth and flush.

Best for:
Premium branding, award pins, corporate recognition, and high-quality retail merchandise where you want a smooth, jewellery-like finish.

Not ideal for:
Artwork with gradients or photo-style detail without metal borders. In those cases, we may recommend printed finishes or an alternative pin type.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Our minimum order quantity for Premium Hard Enamel Pins is 100 pcs.

What’s the main difference between hard enamel and soft enamel?

Hard enamel is smooth and flush like jewellery. Soft enamel has a textured surface with recessed colour areas and can handle finer lines.

Do I need metal borders between colours?

Yes. Hard enamel requires metal die lines between colours. This is how enamel is held in place.

Can you do gradients or photo detail?

True gradients are not possible in enamel without breaking them into colour sections. For photo/gradient artwork, we may recommend a printed finish (silk screen/offset) or a different pin style.

Can I skip the physical sample stage?

You can, but if you skip it and go straight to production, we cannot take responsibility for colour variation compared to the approved digital visual.
