A rough heat-seal guide:
- Preheat the heat sealing machine to the appropriate temperature for the fabric and badge being used. Consult the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific machine and materials you are using.
- Place the badge on the fabric where you want it to be affixed. Make sure that the badge is positioned straight and that it is not twisted or skewed.
- Cover the badge with a “pressing cloth” . A pressing cloth is a thin piece of fabric that will protect the badge and the fabric from the heat of the machine. You can use a piece of teflon fabric, a silicone pad or a commercially available pressing cloth.
- Place the fabric with the badge and pressing cloth into the heat sealing machine. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific machine you are using, including any guidelines for positioning the fabric and applying pressure.
- Run the heat sealing machine according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This will typically involve activating the machine and applying heat and pressure to the badge for the recommended amount of time.
- Once the heat sealing process is complete, remove the fabric from the machine and allow the badge to cool. Do not handle the badge or try to remove the pressing cloth until it has cooled completely.
- Once the badge has cooled, gently peel away the pressing cloth. The badge should now be securely affixed to the fabric.
